EDET (Week 5)

Hey all, another entry from the J

Well, last week was pretty amazing. I learned a few new things. I didn't know what Cloud, Dropbox or what the Google Drive could do. Did you know there were applications similar to Microsoft Office on the Google Drive? Those could be pretty useful, 'specially for folks like me who can't afford Microsoft Office (yes, I'm that cheap), all I need is access to the internet. Sure it may be limited but still pretty convenient.

One of my classmates seem to be the boss of Dropbox, that is also very useful. She shares info on it with others like me. Could you believe I have the Dropbox on my tablet and have never ventured to check out what it was until it was introduced in class? It was like a revelation for me...I was like: "Ooooooooh, that's what that is for!" I have yet to use it myself besides viewing other's that I'm linked with info but I still think it is pretty cool.

Now the Cloud, accessing info from any device through it as long as there is internet connection. I usually never trust those things because I'm putting my info on the internet and I just have a feeling anyone can get to it and distribute it. I'm not a big fan of that, but I still also see the use of it. Comp (computer) or lappy (laptop) crashes or malfunctions or something else terrible goes wrong with it and you didn't even bother to save your info on a backup or flash drive 'cause you didn't have the time or think nothing will go wrong. But unfortunately, something did go wrong and all your stuff is gone. Well, now, the Cloud is there to help in situations like that. All your favorite and important things stored on it and BOOM computer explodes or something, but not to worry, the Cloud is there to save the day. Convenient, yes?
